Thursday, November 14, 2008 the 9th Annual Latin Grammy Awards are handed out in Houston at the Houston Toyota Center. This marks the first time Houston will host the event.
The Latin Grammy Awards recognizes and celebrates excellence in Latin music and will feature performances from the hottest and most prestigious names in the genre. This year the event will be co-hosted by actors Cristián de la Fuente and Patricia Manterola.
The Latin Grammy Awards are given in 49 categories of voting. Focusing on diversity, the categories recognize contemporary and traditional genres from a plethora of Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking nations.
Latin Grammy Awards will be presented by actors Daniela Castro, César Evora, Eduardo Santamarina, Karyme Lozano, Eugenio Siller, Mayrín Villanueva, and Montserrat Olivier; Univision radio personality Raúl Brindis; Tejano recording artist Bobby Pulido; current Latin GRAMMY® nominees Ednita Nazario, Ximena Sariñana, Buika, Alexis & Fido, Cabas, Kenny G., and Kudai; and two-time GRAMMY® and nine-time Latin GRAMMY® winner Juan Luis Guerra.
You will notice that the lineup of performers that Latin Grammy Awards also focuses on highlighting the diversity of Latin music.

If you can’t get a ticket to the event then do not worry. You can still see the awards show on television. The Latin Grammy Awards airs live on the Univision Network from 8 PM to 11 PM Eastern.
